Back | Frequantly Asked Questions - Airwise

What size is it?

With a showerhead, overall length is 7 3/4”, diameter is 3 3/4”

Will it fit any shower?

It will fit 99.9% of US shower pipes. It uses 1/2” NPT thread.

Do I have to use your showerhead?

No, we provide a turbo massage showerhead; however, any type of showerhead can be attached to our filter. A low flow of 2.5 GPM or less showerhead is recommended for optimal performance.

Can it be used with hand held shower heads?

Yes, it will work with most models. Connect your handheld shower hose instead of the included shower head.

How long does it last?

It will typically last from 12 to 18 months with two people taking showers daily.

Does the whole system need to be changed?

No, just the inside cartridge

How much does the deluxe Showerwise cost?

It retails for $89.

How much are the replacement cartridges?

Can it remove fluoride and/or sodium from my softened water?

Fluoride, like sodium and other salts that exist in tap water, are not generally considered to be absorbable. The Deluxe Showerwise System is designed to primarily reduce free chlorine.

My water test shows that the chlorine is still there, why?

A simple OTO (pool) chlorine test, tests for all (free and combined) chlorine. A DPDL test will show a reduction of free chlorine, which is the gaseous chemical that can be absorbed through your skin. The KDF filter medium in the Showerwise, combines the free chlorine molecule in water with a zinc molecule creating a compound, zinc chloride which is not an irritant to the skin or hair and is not absorbed by the pores like free chlorine is.

What do you have for the bathtub?

Unfortunately, the tub spout does not have any threads, which are necessary to connect the filter. Running a hot bath and allowing it to sit for a few minutes before getting in, will allow much of the free chlorine to naturally off gas.
